Church Services are suspended until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

 

Over the next few weeks and months St Matthew and St Luke's will be live streaming services through Facebook live. Our Facebook page can be found here.

Our new telephone service starts at 9:30am on Sunday. Dial 01325 527446 to listen to a pre-recorded service from the team here at St Matthew and St Luke Darlington, and St Michael's, Heighington. Calls are charged at your standard rate.
Our initial service schedule will be
Sunday 9:30am Morning Prayer
Wednesday 7pm Evening Prayer

Services will be available for a few days afterwards if you miss these times.

We will be using the prayer booklets which have already been sent to members of the congregation. Extra copies are available here

 

We have made a booklet for Morning, Evening and Night prayer between Easter and Pentecost. You can download your free copy here.

If you haven’t been to church for a long time or at all, here’s what to expect at our main Sunday morning service.

Our Types of Church Service

Sunday Services

8.15am

Holy Communion or Morning Prayer. This is a quiet, spoken service, in contemporary language.

11.00am

This is the main service on most Sundays and caters for people of all ages. We offer a warm and friendly welcome and most services are followed by a cup of coffee. 

4.00pm

5th Sunday of the month: ‘Cafe Church’ at St Matthew and St Luke’s or Pierremont Methodist Church on Vancouver Street. This is an informal service with the opportunity for discussion, held jointly with Pierremont, with the venue alternating.

6.00pm

2nd Sunday of the month: Holy Communion
All other Sundays: Sunday Worship, in a variety of styles.

 

Wednesday Service

10.00am

Holy Communion. This is a spoken service in traditional language, always followed by fellowship over a cup of tea or coffee with biscuits.
