Public Worship At St Matthew and St Luke's

Following a Church Council meeting this evening, we are asking the Bishop for permission to close for public worship until the government Covid review in February. Whilst public worship may be suspended, the life of the church will go on.

Starting this Saturday (9th Jan) St Matthew and St Luke's will be open for personal private prayer, on Saturdays from 2-4pm and Wednesdays from 10am-noon.

For thos e who don't have internet access our telephone services will go on. Our telephone service of Morning Prayer is available from 9:30am on Sundays. Dial 01325 527446 to listen to a pre-recorded service from the team here at St Matthew and St Luke Darlington, and St Michael's, Heighington. Calls are charged at your standard rate.

We are launching a new "Phone Church" service on Thursdays at 6pm. Phone Church uses teleconferencing to allow us to meet together using our phones and conduct live services. The order of service and joining instructions are available to download here

Facebook worship will follow our regular pattern of Sundays at 11am and 6pm, Tuesdays and Fridays at 10am, and a family service on the first Saturday of the month at 3pm.

We continue to pray for all those affected by Covid-19, their families, friends and all those involved in their treatment.

If you have any questions, queries or comments please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Please be aware that all visitors to church are asked to provide their contact detail at the main door, or check in using the NHS Covid-19 app on their mobile phones using the QR codes on display.

The NHS Covid-19 app is available to download from wherever you normally get your mobile apps.

Witten details will be kept on record for 21 days and then shredded.

When you come in the door there will be hand sanitiser for everyone to use. We would ask that people observe all the usual rules on social distancing, and that if you wish to chat to people you used the garden to help with this.

Following Church of England guidelines we are asking people to wear a face covering when they come to  church.

The full guidelines on face coverings from the Church of England can be read here

There will be a limit on how many people we can safely fit in the building with pews limited to two people or a family/bubble group. Once we have reached capacity we will unfortunately be unable to let any more people in.

If you are in a vulnerable group we would advise you to continue to keep to the Government guidelines for your group.
