Our church acts as a collection point to support the Darlington Food Bank Donations of tins of basic foods such as baked beans rice pudding soup, pasta, biscuits etc. will be gratefully received. Next time you are in the supermarket and they have a BOGOF (buy one get one free) offer, why not buy one and put it in the box at the back of church. Please help our local community.

Food Bank update

I would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone who continues to donate food to the Food Bank at St. Mary’s.  They are sadly as busy as ever and with the advent of the Summer Holidays the families who are currently using the facility will no doubt struggle even more to feed their families.  St. Matthew’s people are very generous at times like these donating extra boxes of cereals and other treats in the summer, Easter Eggs at Easter and Christmas Selection boxes at Christmas along with monetary donations which have gone towards bags of potatoes, real eggs.  So please keep on donating and hold all those who use the various food banks around the town in your prayers, as well as all those who give their time to sort the donations and meet the people every week.

Thank you – Joyce
