About St Matthew & St Luke's Church

Church profile

St Matthew and St. Luke’s church is situated in the North West of Darlington. The Parish curves around from Brinkburn Road towards the town centre taking in parts of The Denes and North Lodge Park. The Parish has a diverse range of ages and ethnicities, with Bengali and Polish being two of the main additional languages spoken.

As a Church we seek to live in active loving service to everyone who lives in the Parish and beyond. We work with our neighbouring Churches to support the work of the local Foodbank, and are grateful to Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington for their support in running our weekly Lunch Club. Our Knit and Natter group are often making things for the local Special Care Baby Units

We are regular visitors to Corporation Road Primary School and also welcome their children into church for visits. We work closely with our local Boys Brigade, Rainbows, Brownies, and Guides to help their members think through issues such as inclusion, the environment, and developing personal beliefs.

St. Matthew and St. Luke’s is open to everyone and does not discriminate against anyone based on age, gender, country of origin, ethnicity, sexuality, belief, or ability.
